At MEDICA, the world’s leading medical technology trade fair in Düsseldorf, BISON Polymers presented its new disposable gloves for the first time. Under the brand name PENTAGUARD, the company from Siegen is targeting hospitals, medical practices, care facilities, and laboratories. What makes the product unique is that the nitrile disposable gloves are fully developed and manufactured in Germany, which drew considerable attention from industry professionals.
Konrad Henkel, CTO and Co-Founder of BISON Polymers, explains how production in Germany is possible: “We rely on proprietary, highly automated machinery, our own research and development department, and an energy-efficient production site. This allows us to manufacture competitively while also reducing CO2 emissions.”
Billions of disposable gloves are used in Germany each year. Most of them are produced in Asian countries such as Malaysia, China, and Thailand. This strong dependence on imports leads to unstable supply chains, long transportation routes, and a correspondingly high carbon footprint.
“Healthcare facilities need reliable supply chains. With PENTAGUARD, we offer nitrile examination and protective gloves that are developed and manufactured in Germany. Production in Germany combined with a fully European supply chain gives our customers planning security and reduces dependence on imports,” says Konrad Henkel.
Visitors at the booth were able to try on the gloves directly. According to BISON Polymers, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees highlighted the comfortable fit, high tear resistance, and the overall high-quality workmanship of the gloves.
With around 78,000 trade visitors from 160 nations and approximately 5,300 exhibitors from 70 countries, MEDICA is considered one of the most important global platforms for innovation in medical technology. For BISON Polymers, the trade fair marked the starting point for presenting the new PENTAGUARD product line to an international professional audience.
