Sustainability Begins with Responsibility – BISON Focuses on Production in Germany

17. Apr 2025

Short delivery routes, controlled processes, modern facilities: At BISON, sustainability is not an add-on, but part of the company’s DNA. The Siegen site demonstrates how supply security and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

Ecologically Sensible – Economically Stable

The decision for in-house production in Germany is not only a strategic step towards supply security – it also significantly reduces emissions from international transport and enables resource-efficient operations on site. Energy-efficient plant technology, automated processes, and transparent procedures make BISON a pioneer in sustainable disposable glove production – with a phenomenal CO₂ savings profile: Compared to disposable gloves imported from Asia, BISON saves more than 80% CO₂.

Material, People, Collaboration

In addition to the ecological footprint, BISON consistently ensures fair working conditions, short decision-making processes, and responsible partnerships. Where possible, materials are sourced in Europe with sustainability in mind – without compromising product safety. A central goal is to create a supply chain together with customers, employees, and suppliers that respects the environment and people.

Making Sustainability Measurable

BISON is working on further concretizing and transparently presenting its own sustainability goals – including CO₂ analyses, waste prevention concepts, and standardized sustainability indicators.

“We know that sustainability is not a state, but a process – which we actively shape”, says CTO Konrad Henkel. “And we are convinced that this path is not only necessary but also economically sensible.”
