BISON Secures Financing to Expand Production of Nitrile Disposable Gloves in Germany

BISON Polymers GmbH, a German manufacturer of nitrile disposable gloves, is establishing industrial-scale production “Made in Germany” at its site in Siegen, North Rhine-Westphalia. In doing so, the company is positioning itself as part of an independent European supply chain for critical medical and industrial protective equipment.
The concept is based on a combination of proprietary production technology, in-house research and development, and a sustainable, energy-efficient manufacturing approach designed to ensure long-term cost efficiency and competitive production in Germany.
Against this backdrop, the company has now successfully secured €27 million in financing for the second expansion phase of its Siegen site. The investment will fund the expansion to a total of six production lines, the gradual increase in production capacity, and the further development of the site’s building and energy infrastructure. The financing is being provided by a regional banking consortium led by Sparkasse Siegen as consortium leader, together with NRW.BANK and the savings banks Sparkasse Burbach-Neunkirchen, Sparkasse Olpe-Drolshagen-Wenden and Sparkasse Wittgenstein. In addition, the State of North Rhine-Westphalia is providing a guarantee for the financing, underlining the project’s importance from an economic policy perspective.
The close involvement of regional financing partners reflects the company’s strategic focus: quality, supply security, and short, controlled supply chains “Made in Germany”.
Rapid Growth Driven by In-House Expertise
BISON was founded in September 2024 and has since developed within a short period of time into a technology-driven manufacturer of nitrile disposable gloves. The company has built up key capabilities in-house, including the development of its production technology, the development and certification of the chemical formulations used in glove manufacturing, and the establishment of a high-performance organisation for industrial production and quality assurance.
On this basis, two production lines have been established at the Siegen site. The first production line is successfully operational, while the second is currently being finalised. Initial partners are already being supplied.
The newly secured financing will enable the further expansion of the production and energy infrastructure as well as the addition of production lines three through six. This will allow production capacity to be ramped up gradually and predictably. Upon completion of expansion phase 2, BISON will be capable of producing approximately 1.9 billion nitrile disposable gloves annually, making a significant contribution to supply security in Germany and Europe.

Market Access Already Established
Despite being at an early stage of its development, BISON has already achieved initial commercial success. In the medical sector, the company is already supplying purchasing organisations and wholesalers, including clinicpartner eG, a leading purchasing cooperative in the German healthcare sector. In the consumer segment, BISON is already supplying Rossmann, one of Germany’s leading drugstore retailers.
This early market penetration underscores the demand for high-quality nitrile disposable gloves manufactured in Germany, as well as the importance of reliable European supply chains.
